Tasks in Night Audit

Varied, but clearly defined!

« On the night shift, you are the hotel's calling card! »

Responsibilities

Even though nights are usually a bit quieter than the day shift, it never gets boring. The tasks are varied – but at wilkon they’re clearly defined, so you know exactly what you’re responsible for. That makes it easy for career changers to find their feet quickly, too.

300 good reasons

They work nights because...

The reasons why people enjoy working nights are as varied as our team. Find out why colleagues deliberately choose the night shift - and why many stay with us for years.

What our Nighties say

A common misconception

Permanent employment, not temp work!

Some people confuse our service with temporary staffing. But wilkon works differently in Night Audit. And that comes with decisive advantages for you.

Alone in the hotel at night

On your own responsibility - but never left alone!

It’s true: in most hotels you’re the only person holding the fort on the night shift. But whenever you have questions or face a critical situation, you can rely on wilkon. Every night, at any hour.

24/7 Hotline

Contacts you know

24/7 Hotline

Running late, or something out of the ordinary happens during the night and you need support? Our 24/7 hotline is always there for you. Not a call center, but colleagues you know and who can support you perfectly.

Tech Support

Colleagues who know their stuff

Tech Support

Every night, highly experienced colleagues are available to you who know the systems in your hotel and know what to do when problems arise. That means many things can be resolved much faster than through the software vendors' official hotlines.

wilkon.guard

Personal emergency signal system

wilkon.guard

You wear the wilkon.guard on your body during your shift and can discreetly press the S.O.S. button in case of danger. The emergency call center verifies the alarm and notifies the police. The wilkon.guard also protects you in the event of accidents or medical emergencies.

Frequently asked questions

And our honest answers

You start out at a single hotel and get to know everything there at your own pace. Once you’ve successfully completed the training phase, you’ll look after at least two hotels. Many of our Nighties are happy to look after three or even four – it brings variety and you get to know different teams and hotels.

No, your employer is wilkon. You are permanently employed by wilkon – no staff leasing, no temp work. In concrete terms: everything concerning your employment – payroll, shift schedule, holidays and so on – you arrange exclusively with wilkon. And wilkon alone has the authority to give you instructions.

Yes, very gladly! With us almost anything is possible – from two shifts a week to classic full-time. We always work with fixed, guaranteed volumes. For example: 16–18 shifts per month (depending on the number of hours you want). That gives you planning certainty and no “sometimes more, sometimes less”.

In the hotel industry there’s something going on every single day of the year. We take your preferences very seriously every month and try to accommodate them as best we can. Out of fairness to the whole team, however, we can’t always guarantee that you’ll have, say, every weekend off. Many Nighties take fair turns here.

You’re the “heart and soul” of the night. You check and complete the end-of-day closing, take care of the invoices, prepare for the next day and, at the same time, are the first point of contact for late-arriving guests. Not a security job, but a genuinely exciting, varied and guest-focused job at night.

You’ll be personally trained by an experienced Nightie or Night Audit Instructor (NAI). How long it actually takes depends mainly on your prior knowledge. Training often takes 5-10 days, but it can also take longer or go faster. In any case, we make sure that after training you can carry out your tasks very independently. Even so, after training you’ll still have a “mentor” you can call at any time. We have our own onboarding tool and regular training sessions (including on new hotel systems such as Opera Cloud).

That depends first and foremost on you. If you’re looking for new challenges and are willing to take on shifts at other locations in emergencies, that’s always very valuable to us. It can also be a first step towards later taking on the role of NAI.

Yes! Many of today’s team leads and Night Audit Instructors started out as Nighties. Depending on the location and how you develop, there’s the opportunity to move up to Night Audit Instructor. In this role we expect a certain willingness to travel, because you’ll also support taking on new clients at other locations. On top of that, you become something like the person in charge of Night Audit at your location – you support and train new Nighties, are the point of contact for the staff on site, and contribute significantly to the quality in your region.
